Loel Max Haviland passed away on November 13, 2024, at the age of 67 in Lancaster, CA. Born on November 25, 1956, Loel's life was marked by a spirited personality and a deep commitment to his family and interests.
Loel was known for his opinionated, sometimes grouchy demeanor, yet those who knew him experienced his immense fun and loving nature. His research into even the smallest purchases showed his thorough and meticulous approach to everything he did.
Professionally, Loel dedicated over three decades to the Waterworks industry, following in his father's footsteps. He began his career working for various supply houses before joining Marden Susco. His expertise led him to a position as an inspector with the Palmdale Water District in 1987, where he remained until his retirement.
Beyond his career, Loel was passionate about motorcycles, both street and dirt riding, and was an avid camper and hiker. An Eagle Scout from the age of 17, he retained and lived by the skills he learned in scouting throughout his life. Loel was also a true music aficionado, with an impressive collection of vinyl records and CDs. He believed in appreciating every song on an album, teaching others to respect the artistry by listening to all tracks in their entirety.
Loel leaves behind his wife of 33 years, LaRee Annette Haviland, his brother Joey Ray Haviland, stepsons Scott Leeland Forbes and Jaymie Lewis Forbes, daughter-in-law Angela Michelle Forbes and grandsons Anthony Lewis Forbes and Andrew Jayden Forbes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max Loel Haviland and Blanche Bernice Haviland.
A celebration of Loel's life is scheduled for March 22, 2025. Further details will be determined in the future.
