Jacob was a kind and loving soul. He cared deeply about his family and friends. Teaching and seeing kids succeed was his passion. He was proud of his students successes as though they were his own. Jacob was an avid reader with a curious mind and was well versed on any intellectual topic… and he was not shy about letting you know it.
He was the pride of his father, the apple of his Mom’s eye and his brother Joshua’s best friend forever All of his family was treasured, parents, brothers, grandparents, uncles, aunts, close friends who were like extended family to him. He was especially close to grandma Mona, who he spoke to daily, his uncles Evan and Uncle “Jay” (Jason), who were also his deepest bonds.
We hope his legacy is a curiosity for learning, love of family and friends and kindness to everyone
Jacob Gill had a passion for educating children and changing their lives in the classroom and by tutoring. He loved being a teacher, and when given the chance to coach high school tennis this year, he jumped in enthusiastically. In honor of Jacob’s giving nature and to help continue his legacy of serving youth, the Gill family asks that you consider donating in his memory to the USTA Florida Section Foundation. Funds raised will support youth and high school tennis programs so that more kids in Florida can experience the joy that Jacob brought to our lives.
