Alan was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Lou and Mae Kaplan.
Alan graduated in 1972 from Bentley College with a BS degree in Business Administration and a Major in Accounting.
On August 7 1977 Alan married his soulmate Ellen. Their love of family and sunshine was evident when they eventually moved to Florida to be closer to both of their families. It was in Coral Springs that they ultimately built their life and their family.
He is predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Muriel and Lester Joffe, and brother-in-law Donald Chandler.
He was a devoted Husband and will be missed dearly by his loving wife of almost 43 years Ellen, his daughters Lisa (Jonathan) Nastasi, Nicole (Matthew) DiPiero, his grandchildren, Joseph and Matthew Nastasi and Madison DiPiero, his siblings Denise Chandler, identical twin Richard (Susan) Kaplan, his nephews and nieces Adam (Melissa) Kaplan, Michelle (Daniel) Dinowitz, and great nephews Jake and Noah and great niece Ellie.
Alan was the proud owner of Jain Accounting for almost 13 years and was very devoted to all of his clients who have grown to truly love him as family and not just their accountant.
Alan loved spending time with Ellen and they enjoyed cruises and trips to Vegas. They both looked forward to trips to visit their children and grandchildren. Alan had a unique sense of humor and could make anyone around him laugh. He had a colorful personality that was truly original. He was a devoted New York sports fan and enjoyed attending sporting events with all those who loved him. Alan was always willing to help those around him and it is said by those that loved him that he was “ all heart”.
Alan will be sorely missed by everyone but never forgotten.
