As the youngest son of the late Irving and Carolyn Sears, those who knew him best, knew him as Bill or Billy. He was born in Hyannis, Massachusetts on October 20, 1950 and lived on Cape Cod until moving to Brevard County in 1987.
Billy served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973. Upon leaving the service he began his career as a truck driver, working for family owned businesses on Cape Cod. After moving to Florida he continued to pursue his love of truck driving for various local companies.
He was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Boston Red Sox, and the Boston Bruins.
He leaves behind his wife, Mary P. Sears of Palm Bay, daughter Meghan Sears of Palm Bay and son Michael (Katie) Sears of Cape Cod, MA. He also leaves behind two brothers, Irving (Pat) Sears of Florida and Richard (Naoko) Sears of New Hampshire. Billy is also survived by his grandchildren Blake (Laura) Sears, Cora Sears, Valerie Sears, and Talia Sears all of Cape Cod, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Even though he had a laid back personality with a gentle soul, his true fighting spirit came through time and time again when needed. He battled many health challenges over the past several months and fought until the very end.
