Rosetta Allen (Nevins) was born on August 20, 1938, in Alexandria, St. Ann, Jamaica, W.I. Rose, as she was affectionately called, was the eighth of ten children of the late Ivan and Ethlyn Nevins. She passed away on August 12, 2021.
Rose received her formal education at Alva, St. Ann, Jamaica, West Indies. She migrated to England to be trained as a nurse. She returned to Jamaica where she briefly worked at the University Hospital of the West Indies and later married Derrickston Allen. She moved to the USA in 1968. She worked at the St. Barnabas Hospital in NY City for 38 years until 2007 when she retired.
She moved to Melbourne FL after she retired, where she found a new home, friendship, new fellowship, and enjoyed living.
Rosetta is survived by her children Paul, Orville, Andrew and Donat; grandchildren Julian, Jaiden,
Kaila Rose, Paul, Porcha and D’andru; her siblings Hyacinth, Clan, Evelyn, Daphne and Agatha, as well as several nieces and nephews, beloved friends, and family members.
She will be greatly missed.
