Born July 22, 1975 in Manhattan, New York to Carol Ann Morris Vergona and Basil Vergona He lived most of his life in Staten Island , New York, and New Jersey before relocating to Melbourne, Florida in 2017.
Robert attended East Brunswick Vo-Tech Highschool in East Brunswick, New Jersey. After his graduation he was employed in a lumber yard in New Jersey. In 1998 Robert enlisted in the US Navy stationed in San Diego, California. He served 4 years on the aircraft carrier USS Constellation CV 64 during the Persian Gulf War. He was honorably discharged in 2002 with the rank of 3rd Class Petty Officer.
After Robert's discharge from the navy he worked as a mechanical engineer for Kromline-Sanderson in New Jersey. After he retired he later relocated to Melbourne, Florida in 2017.
Robert's smile would light up a room. He was kind, respectful, courteous, and loved his family. Robert would give you his last dollar, and the shirt off his back. He enjoyed football (GO JETS), Baseball (YANKEES), and Ice Hockey (N.Y. Islanders) which were his favorite teams. He would often be teased about his "east coast accent", comparing him to Joey Tribiani (from the TV series Friends), and Rocky Balboa (from the Rocky movies. A favorite expression of his was "(FORGED A BOUD IT").
Robert was an avid collector of action figures {Marvel, Star Wars) and rock groups such as Kiss, Beatles and many others. He attended many comic and toy conventions and concerts. He loved meeting the actual performers such as Lou Ferrigno, Linda Blair, Adam West, Peter Criss of Kiss, and many others too numerous to name.
Robert grew up listening to all different genres of music especially rock and roll. He became a talented musician playing multiple instruments (drums, piano, guitar, and the bag pipes). His love and passion foremost was the drums which he excelled at.
Robert loved TV trivia game shows, watching re-runs of the Honeymooners, Twilight Zone, and court dramas. He also lived to draw, and was handy at fixing things or putting stuff together.
Robert is survived by his mother, Carol Ann Morris Karabin, step father, Michael Karabin, Father, Basil Vergona, step mother Jane Vergona, sister Kimberly Hepburn, brother Sean Vergona, daughter Kayla Vergona, step brothers Twins Stephen & Matthew Karabin. Niece Ariyanna Moore. Aunts and uncles, Bobby & Connie Morris, Billy & Jennie Morris, Kenny & Maria Morris, Tina Santoro, Jenny & Paul Cotto, Grace & John DeMeis, Barbara Rose, Al Christian, Donna & Gregg Johanesson, Cousins Mike Kowal, Rob Morris, Jennifer, Lauren, Kristina DeMeis, Theresa Heben, David Cotto, Courtney & Kyle Johanesson.
Robert is predeceased in death by his grandparents Walter & Julia Morris, Felice & Sarah Vergona, Henry & Tessie Karabin, sisters Jennifer & Christine Vergona, Uncle Bob Santoro.
Robert's departure comes as a great shock and deep wounds felt greatly by his entire family, friends who loved him deeply. He will be forever missed

Visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, December 21, 2014 from 11am-12 noon at Fountainhead Funeral Home, 7359 Babcock St, SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909. A Celebration of Life service will occur Saturday December 21, 2024 @ 12 noon 7359 Babcock St SE, Palm Bay FL 32909. A Graveside service will occur Tuesday, December 24, 2024 @ 11:30 am @ Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US , Mims, FL 32754.
