Diane Elizabeth Unger, 86, of Melbourne, FL passed away Friday, September 12, 2014. She was born June 9, 1928 in West Townsend, MA to Elizabeth and Ian Rusk. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her loves included being with family, square dancing, Great Danes and her beloved Boston Red Sox.
She attended the University of Maine and is an alumna of the Gamma chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Oscar “Oz” Unger of Melbourne, daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tracy Amadon of Palm Bay, daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Dave Provencher of Orlando, son and daughter-in-law , David and Rachel Unger of Louisiana and daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Tom Maurer of Orlando. She is also survived by her sister, Claire Hoefel of Vermont, and grandchildren: Kendal and Audra Unger and Jordan McKey, Alisha and Matthew Provencher, and Brett and Chelsea Maurer.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, September 17 at 11AM at Fountainhead Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations can be made to William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, FL.
