Albert Anthony Gensiejewski, Sr., 84, died Monday, March 26, 2012. Albert was born in Gardner, MA. He graduated for Gardner High School where he and his twin brother were All-Star athletes in both football and baseball. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class. He served in Korea and in Vietnam with the 11th Airborne Division, 47th Infantry, Military Police Command, 5th Cavalry, 82nd Airborne, Airborne Military Police Command, and Special Forces/ Green Berets in the 3rd and 10th Groups. After retiring from the Army Albert worked for the Palm Bay Police Department and retired as a Lieutenant Commander in 1985.
Albert was a lifelong member of American Legion, VFW, The Special Forces Association Chapter XXI, the 82nd Airborne and 5th Calvary Associations.
He is survived by his sons Albert A. Gensiejewski, Jr. and Mark Gensiejewski, both of Palm Bay, FL, his sisters Lillian Spring and Stacy Zanin, both of Gardner, MA, his granddaughter Whitney and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents Antoni and Helen Gensiejewski, and his brothers Alfred J. Gensiejewski and Gerald G. Gensiejewski.
A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Monday April 2, 2012 at Fountainhead Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2p.m. with a committal and military honors at Fountainhead Memorial Park.
