Candace Francis Roman, 37, passed away September 14, 2020. She was born November 3, 1982 in Monterey CA. She graduated from Pacific Grove High School in 2000. That same year she was the Portuguese Queen for F.D.E.S. of Monterey. After earning her Associates Degree at Monterey Peninsula College, she went on to earn a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration from California State University of Monterey Bay, all while working full time for Pebble Beach Company.
Candace had a passion for high end fashion and jewelry. She began selling her own jewelry when she was 12 years old. She became manager at Let it Bead on Cannery Row where she was very generous in supporting local children in her craft. After graduating, Candace assisted in opening and managing the first couture consignment store in Carmel, Consign Couture, and oversaw it’s transformation into Ritzy Rags. For the past few years, she has enjoyed working for Cardinale Moving & Storage, where she felt like part of the family.
Candace loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephew. She loved making jewelry, art, and crafting. Candace enjoyed exploring Big Sur, hiking, and going for walks on the beach. Candace was brave and strong as she battled cancer over the past seven years. She had a huge heart. She cared deeply about her family and friends, often putting them first even when she was struggling.
Candace is survived by her parents, Mark & Marlene Roman; grandmother, Mary A. Freitas; her partner, Lyle; brother, Curtis, and sister, Cristin.
