Mr. Arthur J. “Teddy” Burgess died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, in Eufaula, Alabama. He was 82. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011, at 1 p.m. from Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Anniston with Rev. Bill Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home Saturday. Interment will follow in Edgemont Cemetery. Mr. Burgess was born December 15, 1928 in Anniston, Alabama to the late Lonnie Richard Burgess, Jr. and Lottie Bell Pitts Burgess. He worked in the Maintenance Department of the Oxford, Alabama School System.
Mr. Burgess is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Lenita) Burgess and Shane (Ruth) Burgess, all of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Lora (Scott) Fowler of Eufaula, and Phyllis (Bill) Sanders of Clayton; a brother, Gene Burgess, of Saks, AL; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
