Steve Demetrius

He was born in Queens, New York on November 25, 1947. He and his family moved to Florida after he retired from New York Racing Association. He worked many years at the Belmont Race Track.

He was married to his first wife, his beloved wife Barbara. They were childhood sweethearts and married on February 13, 1972, raised their 3 children, and were together for 35 years until her passing on July 05, 2001.

Steve married his second wife Sue on August 20, 2005 and they were together until his passing. In August of 2002 they met at an Elvis Tribute Show and they were seated together because they were by themselves. They were called "Two Peas in a Pod". They joined an Elvis club together and they participated in many events, festivals, and they traveled and took cruises, especially to the Hawaiian Islands and they enjoyed life to the fullest! Steve especially loved music, gambling, good food, singing, dancing, and being the Center of Attention.

Steve was survived and loved dearly by his wife, Sue; three children, Tracy, April, and Derek; grandchildren, Talia (and her little boy Colby), Siana, Jalina, Joey (April's children and grandson); and his other grandchildren, Aydan and Ari by his son Derek; and Steve's brother-in-law, James, who was his best friend and his "Brother". Steve was one of three cousins who grew up together and now his cousin Peter is the last of the three.

Steve was loved dearly by his four stepchildren, Tabatha, Mike, Chad, and Jill; along with their children, Cory, Kirstie, and Korinne; Bryttni, Kaitlyn, Dixie, Joel, Breanah, Jaycob, Isabella, Kyleigh, and Madelyn; and step great-grandchildren, Ian, Iverson, Naomi, Jennifer, and Kiari.

A viewing for Steve with be held at Baldwin Fairchild Oviedo Chapel (501 E Mitchell Hammock Rd, Oviedo, FL 32765) on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm.

A graveside service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery (400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd, Gotha, FL 34734) on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 2:30 pm.
