Ronald D. Craig, age 81, was ushered into the presence of his Savior on Sunday, December 31st, 2017. Ronald was born and raised on a farm in Farmland, Indiana. He was the second child of four siblings. He loved sports and science as well as tinkering on tractors and cars. He graduated from Selma High School in 1954. He graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree with emphasis in Chemistry, and a Master’s of Education. He met his wife of 58 years, Grace, in Muncie, Indiana in 1958. He taught Chemistry at Selma and Wapahani High School. Before moving to Florida, Ron helped build the Creekwood Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana. In Florida he continued to teach chemistry at St. Cloud High School from 1974 to 1981, where he was also the tennis coach as well as interim baseball coach in the Babe Ruth League. His students will remember him telling puns as he brought chemistry to life for them. His desire to teach at Community College led him to teach chemistry at Valencia Community College, Jacksonville Community College, and Polk Community College.
In his retirement, he enjoyed taking family and his two grandchildren to North Carolina where they always had smores, picked blueberries, hiked, shot a potato gun and played volleyball. We will miss his jokes, and will always treasure the furniture he designed and built for each of us.
Ronald Craig is survived by wife Grace Craig, sons Brian Craig and Brent Craig, daughter-in-law Mary Craig, granddaughter Veronica Pruim, grandson-in-law Clay Pruim, and grandson David Craig, and siblings Carolyn Craig, Joan Craig and Vernon Craig.
