The Lord called home one of His finest when Michael David Brick, 76, of Oviedo, FL was reunited in Heaven with the love of his life, Roslyn, on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 after a tough battle with Covid related pneumonia, fully vaccinated. His loving family was by his side.
Mike was born September 4, 1945 in Coral Gables, FL to the late Paul and Catherine Brick. He joined the USMC for a few years after high school and then was in the Marine Reserves until 1981. During this time he also graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He started out his law enforcement career working as a campus patrol officer at FSU. In 1967 while working at FSU, he met the love of his life, Roslyn. They were married in 1968. A few years later he went to work for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He worked many years for FDLE in Tallahassee and Orlando reaching the title of Special Agent in Charge. He retired from FDLE in 1993. After being retired for a few years, he realized he wasn’t ready to leave the police force all together and began working road patrol and as a detective for the city of Maitland, FL, retiring from there in 2003. He also spent a lot of time later in his career and during his retirement doing Voice Stress Analysis testing with his own company, Truthconsultants.
Mike was very loyal to his church. He built many altars, tabernacles, crucifixes and other religious items for the church. He could always be found at morning mass and was a friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed woodworking from an early age. He built a full addition onto his house in Tallahassee back in the early 80s and built many pieces of well loved furniture for family and friends throughout his lifetime. More times than not, if you drove past his house on any given afternoon you’d find his garage door up and him out working on a project, even up through this summer. If not in the front yard, he’d be out in his backyard feeding his beloved raccoons their daily marshmallow treats. He really enjoyed those greedy little animals. He also enjoyed fishing, watching the Seminoles play football, even through their losing streaks, and spending every minute he could with his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mike leaves behind three daughters, Michelle Dedmon (James) of Sayre, PA, Maggie Rondeau (Stephen) of Franklin, MA, and Amanda Leonard of Lake Mary, FL. His grandchildren adored him. They are Michael Miles (Porscha) of Winter Springs, FL, Matthew Miles (Skye) of Cedartown, GA, Ryan Rondeau, Paige Rondeau and Emma Rondeau of Franklin, MA. His precious great-grandchildren are Shelby Rose and Brantley Michael of Winter Springs, FL. He is survived by siblings, Maggie Raymond of MA, Kathy White of WA, Mary Spencer of MA, Dorothy Verry (Dave) of WA, Paul Brick (Teri) of TX, Angel Lim (Nino) of HI and John Brick of FL. He had a host of other loving family members including numerous nieces, nephews, God children, cousins and sister and brother-in-law‘s. Mike was predeceased by his amazing wife of over 52 years earlier this year, Roslyn Brock Brick, brother and sister-in-law Jimmy and Terry Brick and brother-in-law Jim Raymond.
