In loving memory of Josephine Ann Gonter, a cherished soul who graced this world from November 25, 1928, until her peaceful departure on October 11, 2024, in Orlando, Florida. Born in the quaint town of West Springfield, Massachusetts, Jo’Ann dedicated her life to nurturing young minds as an elementary school teacher, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her students. Her passions extended beyond the classroom; she found joy in scrapbooking, playing cards, and cultivating her garden, all while relishing precious moments with her family. A devoted mother, she is survived by her beloved sister Jean McAvinn, her sons Matthew and Mark Gonter, and her daughter Mary Duckworth, along with her treasured grandchildren—Michael Gonter, Walter Duckworth, Zachary S. Hogan, Heather N. Comprosky, Kimberly Gonter, and Marlena Tindell—and great-grandchildren Rush, Aela, Wakely, James, Everly, Christian, and Harper. Jo’Ann was predeceased by her loving husband Matthew Gonter, her son Walter Gonter, and grandchildren Stephen Gonter, Blake, Ryley, and Jackson. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the residence of her grandson Walter Duckworth, where family and friends are invited to honor her remarkable legacy.
