Rick was born on January 29, 1957 and passed away on Friday, February 25, 2016 after battling pneumonia and emphysema. He was a lifelong resident of Overland Park, KS. In his younger years he participated in Cub Scouts, 3&2 baseball, and was a member of the International Order of DeMolay. He attended Shawnee Mission West High School. In 1974, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. After his discharge he worked for the Shawnee Mission School District as a painter and also was an over the road truck driver. Rick served 2 years as the Post Commander at the Dwight Cowels Post #370 of the American Legion in Overland Park. He was also in the Forty & Eight, Veterans that fund charitable and patriotic causes. As a member of the Marine Corps League, he actively participated in Toys-For-Tots and was the League's photographer and helped print the newsletter. Later in life he owned the KC Snow Plow Co. Most recently he was the caretaker for his beloved wife Barbara for 8 years, until her passing last year in April. Proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Barbra and best-friend, his dog, Buddy. He is survived by his sister Susan Turner, his brother Ken Hinrichs, step-children Trish Binkley and Michael Weddle, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
