Lois, the daughter of Ione Loosli Giordanino and step-father, Ray Giordanino, was born September 16, 1924 in Oakland, California. She was a homemaker and mother for many years and later in life, enjoyed working as Administrative Assistant for American Family Services, Christian ministry. In California, she was a member of Church on the Way in Van Nuys and later, The Lighthouse in Newbury Park.
She was a proud 37-year resident of Westlake Village, where she served as President of the Women’s Club, before moving to Overland Park, Kansas. In Overland Park, she was a member of Vineyard Church for years and more recently, faithfully attended the Brookdale Chapel at Brookdale 119th.
Lois was respected and loved by her family and friends for her resilience, sense of humor, intellect, compassion and, since 1980, her deep faith.
Lois leaves behind her adoring family: daughters, Vandra Solomon of Prairie Village, Kansas, Carol Chislett of Portland, Oregon, Elizabeth Chislett of Valencia, California; stepson, John Chislett and wife Vivian of British Columbia; grandchildren, Tivon Abel and wife Tonya of Portland, Lindsay Carpenter and husband Corey of Kansas City, Missouri, Andrew Arons and girlfriend Aimee Dodge of Los Angeles, California; and her great-grandchildren, Olivia Abel, Theo Abel, and Ethan Carpenter.
Memorial service in Kansas will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 1 at Brookdale Chapel, Brookdale Senior Living, 6101 W. 119th Street, Overland Park. Funeral service and burial will be at Pierce Brothers Valley Oak Cemetery in Westlake Village on Friday, February 10, with visitation at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm.
