Linda Faye Holloway of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away on December 9, 2023. She was born on August 8, 1949 to Hazel Fay Hamic and John Thomas Leveritt in Lexington, Kentucky. Linda grew up mostly in Decatur, Georgia, and then spent most of her adult life here in the Kansas City area.
Linda obtained her Bachelor’s of Arts in Education from the University of Missouri in 1971, and her Master’s in Special Education from the University of Kansas in 1980.
Linda taught Special Education in the Kansas City Missouri School District at Delano and Center High Schools. Linda taught art, was a founding Director of Grace Christian Academy, and a member of the Kansas State Board of Education from 1997-2000. Linda was an artist, published author, mentor, top-notch educator, and much-loved wife and stepmother.
In June of 1985, Linda married Jerry Arnold Holloway. They enjoyed a full and happy marriage, serving the Lord together for nearly thirty years. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; parents, John Thomas and Hazel Leveritt; and a stepson from a previous marriage. She is survived by her 3 children: (step) Tamara Tipton, Bret and Kevin Holloway; her daughter in love, Vanessa Holloway (Kevin); and 2 beloved grandchildren, Joshua Dylan Holloway and Bailey Michael Andrew Tipton. Linda is also survived by her much-loved cousin, Nancy Ball; and her stepdaughter and spiritual daughter from a previous marriage, Beth Holland.
Linda's visitation will begin at 1:30pm, followed by her Celebration of Life service at 2:30pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Bridgeway Church, 8150 Monticello Terrace, Lenexa, Kansas 66227.
