Donald Edward Hansen, 88, Prairie Village, KS, passed away surrounded by his family Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wynne Sharon (Luskow) Hansen; and his brothers, James B. Hansen and Robert B. Hansen. He is survived by his son, Mark B. Hansen and wife Janice and granddaughters Laurel Brynn and Saffron Grace; his son, Shawn E. Hansen and wife Sienna.
Mr. Hansen was born in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School. He served in the United States Navy. He was a local president in the Jaycees and member of the senate in the JCI. Mr. Hansen began a long career in sales and sales management working for, among others, RCA and Capitol Records, Bayuk Tobacco, Schick Razors, Executone and Quintrex Inc., and finishing his career with All Systems, Inc. He was an early and longstanding member of Faith Lutheran Church of Prairie Village where he served on the church council and as Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 283. He was known for his love of the great outdoors, a passion for photography, his sense of fun and sometimes outrageous humor, and maybe above all, a devotion to Jazz music. Mr. Hansen was known for his ‘Jazz Nights’ when friends and family could gather and take turns sharing favorite tracks from his record collection or records they brought to share. He will be missed by his many friends and relations.
