Kirby Joseph Dawson Hogan, 35 years old, of Ottawa, ON with his adoring family at his side, passed away peacefully at Montfort Hospital in Ottawa, ON after a brief illness on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Born in Oshawa, ON, he was the treasured son of Heather and Bradley Hogan of Irishtown, NB.
Kirby worked as a Supply Team Leader with Public Services and Procurement with the Canadian Federal Government. He moved to Ottawa to work for the government after living and working in Halifax and Miramichi, and after growing up in Oshawa, ON. Kirby was a Sea Cadet, who attained a Master’s Degree in Public Ethics at Saint Paul University and a Bachelor of Arts degree at St. Thomas University.
In addition to his parents Heather and Bradley, Kirby will be profoundly missed by his last surviving grandparent, Margaret Hogan, his Irish lass Anna Kelly and their sweet Cora; his brokenhearted brother Tim Dawson (Kristen) and sister Vicki Stone (Jon). He will live on in the hearts of his adoring nieces Lauren and Jordan of Whitby, ON and Izzy and Annie of Fredericton, NB. His aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members will treasure their every moment with their beloved boy. Kirby’s beloved fur baby Larry will forever search for his boy who loved him dearly.
Kirby’s family would like to give special thanks & heart felt appreciation to Kirby’s many beloved friends who paid honour and vigil to our boy through his last days in the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital. The Montfort ICU team is thanked for their incredible dedication to Kirby’s wish to live - he was treated with ultimate care through his last breath.
A celebration of life will be held in days to come, after his family has had time to process this profound loss.
