Doreen Choquette

Aged 86, passed away peacefully January 12, 2020 due to complications caused from Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Bourget, Ontario and raised in Cornwall, Ontario. Doreen was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment she could with them. Vivacious by nature, she always made people around her laugh and enjoy the moment. Doreen made friends everywhere she went. She was committed to living life to its fullest and those lucky enough to have known her are eternally grateful for being along for the ride. Doreen is survived by her beloved husband Roger; her brother Ian Empey and his partner Billy Newton-Davis; her sister Debbie Labelle; her two sons Brian and Craig and their wives Kim and Sylvie; her daughter Cynthia and her husband Jim Hogan; her sisters-in-law Lauraine Lauber and Carol Costello; her grandchildren Stephanie Ohmer, Sean Lauber, Nina Lauber, Tanya Lauber, Philippe Lauber, and Vicky Lauber; plus 6 great grandchildren and her many nephews and nieces. She loved and touched them all deeply. Please join us in celebrating her life Saturday afternoon January 25, 2020, between 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa K1V 1A6. A “Celebration of Life” event for family and friends is being planned and will take place at Craig and Sylvie’s cottage during this summer.
