Words cannot express how shocked and saddened we are to learn of the passing of Mr. Rob Farrow. Rob was a one of a kind boss and friend. It was such a privilege and honour to work for and know Rob. I started working at Farrow Construction a few weeks after Rob started the company and I was there until the end. We completed numerous projects and each job was an adventure. There were a lot of jokes, laughs and stories that I will never forget. I will forever cherish all of the memories. He was so kind and generous to my entire family. My oldest daughter’s first summer job was working with me doing traffic control at Farrow Construction and she had a blast. My youngest daughter still has the gift that she received at her first Farrow Construction Christmas party. During my final years of working for Rob, I had the privilege of travelling via Mr. Farrow’s airplane to the last job site. The laughs and views we shared during these flights will forever be with me. Below is a photo of the 3 Amigos on our way to Toronto and one of Rob at Billy Bishop Airport.

Dear Anne, Julie, Robbie 

I am deeply saddened to hear of this news. The memories of my early years also included Rob, including the many jokes he, my dad, and co-workers would play on each other. I also fondly remember snowmobiling or doing other winter activities with our families, where the main skill was to stay on the sled or sleigh, otherwise someone (mainly Rob) may have pushed you off. He had such a sense of humour that will be missed. 

I also had the privilege to work at the Farrow office. True to his character, you would not be surprised that I often remember Rob running around the office or between appointments, always “on the go”… I think he was quite happy when I started to drive and then I could do some of these tasks, such as dropping off a bid at city hall or rebar shop. He also bailed me out of a situation or two, so I have to thank him for these times as well. 

There are many stories I am sure that myself, parents, brothers, or family members could share. I will continue to remember all of the moments that we had together and I will be thinking of you and your families during this difficult time.

I have been deeply affected by the recent news of Rob Farrow’s death.
It saddens me that he is gone at the early age of 71 and I’m thinking of Anne, Julie and Robbie and how hard it must be for them and their families to lose him. I know how much he loved them all.
Rob was a singular man and I am honoured to have known and worked with him. He truly was One-of-a-Kind.
When I quit what was then SNC Lavalin (precursor to Bombardier/CanCar) to “hitch my cart” to Rob and his new Company, Farrow Construction, I knew that I was setting off on a path that I had no idea where it would lead. My uncle, Ken Hagarty had introduced us, claiming to Rob that I knew how to estimate Construction Projects. That lie got exposed quickly but Rob was a great leader and role model as we worked out of one of Pat Gambles small offices on Mooney Street. And BOY, did we WORK!
I would need pages to relate all that he accomplished and built from Kenora to White River in Ontario.
 Bridges, Hydro dams, papermills, sawmills and grain elevators. Beautiful cottages at Shebandowan. A short walk around Boulevard Lake will take one over 3 Farrow Construction Projects. A pedestrian bridge, the Black Bay Bridge and the Boulevard Lake dam and fishladder.  A suspension bridge in Pukaskwa Park was the toughest and most memorable project. 
I am deeply indebted to Rob Farrow and his wife Anne. My life would have been much less interesting and fulfilling if our paths hadn’t come together. He was fun to work with, never asked one to do something he wouldn’t do himself, pushed himself ever forward, nothing could get in his way.
He was a remarkable man and I think of him often. I will always wear my Farrow Construction jacket with pride.

So sad to hear about Rob's passing. We accomplished many jobs together. He was a great Contractor & good friend.
In 1988, Rob & Anna joined Darlene & I for our 25th wedding anniversary in Hawaii..What a ball we had.
Our "stock club" would get together  @ Rob & Anna's beautiful camp @ Shebandowan and of course  a few Labatt '50" would be involved.

When I heard about Rob's passing I was both shocked and saddened.
I am also one of the "Fabulous Four" canoe trippers. Memories of those adventures will not be forgotten.
We were fortunate to have shared these experiences together.
There were no idle moments when you were with Rob. he was always on the hop. He worked hard and played hard.
Of course there were the gatherings at Rob and Anna's beautiful camp at Shebandowan Lake near Thunder Bay.
Losing a friend is sad, but there are good memories to be had.
To Anna and Family I am thinking about you during this difficult time.

I am saddened to hear of Rob's death.
I will write something about him but will need some time to compose it.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Rob’s sudden passing.  I am one of the four canoe adventurers, Rob, Bob, and Primo,, We spent many interesting hours planning trips.  We enjoyed all of our adventures, rain or shine  canoeing in Boundary Waters in Minnesota, Quetico and Wabakimi Provincial Parks, and other areas of Northwestern Ontario.. We always enjoyed getting together to reminisce about our trips…. of course, we would never exaggerate!!! We had  great times, as soon as one trip ended, we were planning the next.  
Rob was the fisherman in the group, and after making camp for the evening, he would throw in a line, sometimes he actually caught a fish!
After Rob and Anna moved away from Thunder Bay, Rob was always in our stories!
Our deepest sympathies go out to Anna and family during this sad time.

It was extremely sad to hear of Rob's passing. I had so many great memories of our wonderful, challenging and exciting adventures during many spectacular canoe trips in NW Ontario. We spent many hours planning together and sharing stories of our fabulous adventures. So many great moments!!! So many 100mile plus adventures. So many unforgettable times around the campfires, great food and wonderful stories.
Our 4 person (Rob, Dave, Bob and Primo) canoe team was always a tight group ready and willing to see how our next adventure would unfold. A truly great and very experienced wilderness team with a great respect for nature and it's wonders. 
And then there were the great overnight times we spent together with our wives out at Rob and Anne's place at Shebandowan Lake. Truly very great moments of food, fun and memories.

It was very sad to hear about the passing of Rob. He was a great man who always had a big smile and was always willing to help anyone. He will definitely be missed by many. My deepest condolences to all the family, prayers are with you all at this time.
