It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Patrick Lee Alan McKay on Wednesday, July 20th, 2016 at the age of 21; the result of a tragic accident. Beloved son of Rob and Karen Lee, loving brother of Robert (& Angela), cherished grandchild of Al and Carolyn McKay and David and Rosalie Spooner. Patrick will be greatly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, close family friends, and girlfriend, Stephanie. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends, classmates, colleagues, teammates and coaches. Patrick grew up in the Enniskillen area and attended Clarington Central Secondary School. He was an avid snowboarder, wakeboarder and passionate hockey player. He genuinely enjoyed playing his guitar and had a real talent for it. Patrick was studying Electrical Engineering Technology at Mohawk College in Hamilton, where he excelled in the electrical labs. Never one to sit still, Patty lived life to the fullest with an energy that was contagious. As was Patrick’s nature to help other people, his corneas have been donated. We hope this will allow another to see life with his sense of adventure. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Wednesday, July 27th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 9 p.m. and Thursday, July 28th from 2:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Patty McKay Memorial Hockey Scholarship (gofundme.com/2fvm7xg) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
