Mary Anne Kortun Oleksiuk

With profound sadness the family of Mary Anne Oleksiuk announce that the brightest light in their life has gone out on July 10th, 2011 at 12:55 a.m., in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her loving husband Michael, daughter Donna, granddaughters Lissa and Sharon, her brother Alex Kortun and Tony Paloschuk. Ann leaves behind children Don Bint, Shirley Gionet (Dorothy), Carol Brown (Garry), Ginny Taylor (Brian), and Ray Bint (Mary). Adored Nan of Allan, Michael, Paul, Ray, Robbie, Maryanne, Gerry, Troy, Ron, Wendy, Kevin, Greg, Terry, Aaron, and many great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Ann will also be missed by sisters Berniece, Jeannette, Annette, Pauline, Helen and Irene. Those who knew Ann will remember her for her wonderful sense of humour and for her feisty tenacity. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St. W., Oshawa (905-721-1234) for visitation on Tuesday, July 12th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Friends are encouraged to wear something red to honour Ann’s memory. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, July 13th at 3:00 p.m. Interment at St. Wolodymyr and St. Olha Ukrainian Cemetery to follow service. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff at Hillsdale Terraces for taking such wonderful care of Ann. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for the Hillsdale Terraces Recreation Fund.
