Jose Henrique Nunes Vieira

It is with great sadness we announce that Jose Henrique Nunes Vieira peacefully passed on March 27 2025 with loving family by his side at the age of 79. Jose has gone to be with the love of his life, Alexandra to which they shared 34 wonderful years.

Jose was the loving father to Gina (Joe) and Tony (Katy). Beloved grandfather to Charlize, Quintin and Ava.

Loving brother to Arlete and Natalia.

He was predeceased to parents Antonio and Natividade and sister Laura.

Jose will be deeply missed by extended family throughout South Africa, the United Kingdom, Madeira and in Canada, as well as by the great friends that he made in his 3 year stay at Lakeridge Heights Retirement Community.

Jose enjoyed soccer, watching the game whenever and where ever he could. He found peace in nature, enjoying his camping trips back in South Africa, going for walks, or tending to his garden, where his green thumb was evident. Cooking was another passion of his, and he especially loved hosting barbecues for family and friends. Jose also stayed informed about political events, taking an active interest in current affairs.

A very special thank you to the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for the care and compassion they provided.

A visitation will occur on Thursday April 3rd 2025 at 11:30am at the Oshawa Funeral Home located at 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario – L1J 2L4 followed by a Service in the Chapel at 1:30. Reception will follow the service in the lower level of the funeral home.
