I worked for Chris for several years as a taxi driver and formed a relationship with his family that could never end Chris was a very kind-hearted man who always saw the best in everyone he helped me out on countless occasions when the chips were down for me and when I lost my wife to cancer in 2004 Chris and his family did everything in their power to keep me grounded and have uplifting spirits.
I'm sure Chris would be happy that I have done very well for myself I work in the film industry in Toronto I have a nice place to live and a beautiful wife now and six gorgeous grandchildren.

With a note in my hand, with the address of Frederik de Waard on it, Bianca and I were on Canadian soil for the first time in 1991. After some phone calls from the Football coach where we were staying at the time, we got in touch with our family in Canada. From one moment to the next, we were suddenly tossed back and forth from uncle Freek, to aunt Yvon and then to Chris and Trix, where we stayed the last days of our trip. From our first meeting, we have always felt very wanted, loved and at home. My mother and our children were also warmly welcomed in 1998. Chris was tireless behind the wheel of his car. He proudly drove to the most beautiful places in Ontario, Niagara Falls, Algonquin Park, 1000 Islands, 6 hours drive for a coffee at Jacqueline & Jim or view a boat in New York. Chris didn't care at all. Full of pride, he told and showed the developments and growth of the Taxi company, this was not only his source of income but also his soul and bliss. We are very happy and honored to have known Chris as a proud father, loving grandfather, a real family man. We deeply regret that the moment Chris had everything sorted out and started enjoying his old age, his health started to fail him. We are very pleased that we paid a visit to Chris in May this year, not suspecting that the situation would deteriorate so quickly. Dear Chris, we will always remember you for your hospitality, kindness, honesty and lovely smile. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Trix, the children and grandchildren, family and friends. You will always be in our hearts, we will miss you....Nico and Bianca

Maybe once in a lifetime, we are lucky enough to engage our lives with a real humanitarian. Me and my family embraced that opportunity with not only Chris, but his entire clan. You see,if you were Chris's friend, you were treated like family. If you weren't known to Chris, he would treat you like family. Christian von Pelgrim, which I referred to him as,had a way of making anyone feel good about  themselves. The man never judged,or criticized, and saw only the good in everyone in front of him. That is a true humanitarian. My own personal memories of the hard work we did together to sustain and forge Bell Taxi towards an elite service, are forever etched in my heart. The memories of dancing, singing and wonderful gatherings, are double etched in my family's hearts. My family to yours,the world was a better place because of you Chris, and we thank you. When I came to Canada in the summer of 1971, after my  dad passed , Chris became the protective older brother to me. I cherish a lot of beautiful memories.
He was always ready with good advice . He was the protective and loving cousin who took me fun places. We will miss his warm voice , his laugh and his spunk! Rest in peace💔💔💔



Just 2 months short of working for this 45 wonderful years when illness took me from the job I love so much  I miss you all so much I now  the pain will be going through  very soon just remember you have friends always willing to listen  to anything you need to talk about
I am on the top of that list...

I was 9 years old when I first met you, uncle Chris, as a nervous young boy in a strange country. It did not take long though, for the warmth of you and auntie Trix both to make me feel comfortable and at home. The biggest and most amazing memories of my childhood have you in them. From going to see Niagra falls to trying to encourage me in the line for that (back then) frightning rollercoaster in Canada's wonderland. 

As a adult I did get the chance to sit down with you and have a actual talk about life over a few beers. This too is a very fond memory. I remember exactly what we talked about still, and I could have honestly listened to you talk many hours more. 

My deepest condolences to my family, and my love in these hard times, as well as the times after. I love you all. 

My deepest condolence to pelgrim family💔with heavy heart we have to say goodbye to chris🙏🏻May his soul rest in peace. He was very kind and gentle person. I am known to him just from few months but its like years, in short time i became a part of family, thank you betrix pelgrims. Its hard to accept that he is gone but he is gone with lots of love, respect and care and also he left us with some sweet memories. Lots of love and respect for family for taking excellent care of chris. Sending lots of love to family❤️
