Carol Ann was predeceased by her parents, Clayton and Rebecca (nee Jonah), her beloved husband Peter, and her brother Bob.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lisa (Ryan), as well as her stepchildren, Eleanor, Andrew, and Peter Jr. Carol Ann was also a cherished Nana to Logan and Dustin, and step-grandchildren Richard, Victoria, Olivia, Tyler, and Emily.
Carol Ann had a distinguished career in healthcare, serving as the head nurse of the Intensive Care Unit at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital in St. Catharines for many years. Later, she made a significant impact at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough, where she developed and led the paramedic program, ultimately becoming the head of Continuing Education.
A compassionate, caring, and devoted mother, Carol Ann was known for her kindness and her ability to make those around her feel accepted. She was a wonderful mentor to many and created lasting connections with those she worked with. Carol Ann treasured moments spent playing cards and board games with her family, creating memories that will be fondly remembered. She also enjoyed traveling whenever she had the opportunity.
A big thank you to the staff at Hillsdale Estates for all the wonderful care they provided to Carol Ann during her stay.
Carol Ann’s warmth and presence will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be held at the Oshawa Funeral Home on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 9:30am, followed by a service in the chapel at 10:30am. A light reception will take place downstairs in the Heritage room following the service. Carol Ann will be interred at Union Cemetery after the reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family are kindly asking for donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
