Ronald Lee Cottrell, 56, passed away January 19, 2011 at Halifax Medical Center. He was born on October 5, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio son of Clara J Cottrell and the late Donald Cottrell. In 1969 he moved to Florida and graduated from Mainland High School class of 1972. Ron owned and operated Ron’s Driveline Parts & Repair in addition to Salty Charters. He had his 100 ton Captains license and loved nothing more that to take someone fishing and watch them catch fish. Besides fishing he enjoyed hunting, car racing, NASCAR and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Whispering Pines Hunting Club. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 35 years, Debi; his mother Clara J. Cottrell; children Rochelle and Ronnie; grandchildren; Taylor, Ronnie, Brandon and Alex; sister, Donna McMillen; mother and father in law Nancy and Louis Carr; and his loyal constant companion Sheeba. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held, 1 p.m. Saturday February 5, 2011 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, Fl.
