Donald Leon Burns, 73 of South Daytona, made his last pit stop and passed away June 1, 2012. He was born November 1, 1938 to Luther and Charlie Burns. He proudly served his country in the Air Force and CIA working on many Top Secret missions, including the U2 spy plane. After he retired he loved racing his dirt late model. He enjoyed camping, cooking, NASCAR, and being with family. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Juanita, his son Wade Nottingham, daughter Kimberly Burroughs, daughter Donnita Alpert, brother Luther, nine grandchildren with one on the way, extended family and many friends. A graveside service will be held 10:00AM Wednesday June 13, 2012 at Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach, Fl 32174.
