He leaves behind his loving wife of 12 years, Elizabeth Uhl Kennedy, 6 children, Kerry Thomas (David), Charles J. Kennedy, Jr. (Peggy), Kelly Northrip (Steve), Patrick Kennedy, Brooks Carroll and Shane Carroll (Alysha) as well as 14 grandchildren, Kelsey Coates (Andrew), Charles J. Kennedy, III (Kari), Leilan Hamm (Brian), Abbygail Kennedy, David Thomas, V, Sr. Airman, Chase Kennedy, Matthew Kennedy, Airman, Grace Forgey (Austin), Faith Kennedy, Brooke Northrip, Randall Northrip, Margaret Kennedy, Mackenzie Carroll and Amelia Carroll, brothers, Roderick Kennedy, Jr. (Graceann) and Lawrence Kennedy and sisters Patricia D’Amico (Leo) and Evalyn Kennedy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 33 years, Patricia Kennedy and brother, Richard Kennedy.
He graduated from Franklin Roosevelt High School. While living in New York, he worked as a Carpenter and was a volunteer fireman for Washington Engine in Peekskill, NY.
He moved to Florida in 1976 where he continued to work as a carpenter. He then worked for Volusia County Schools, from which he retired.
He loved to walk, ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle, especially riding the lower 48 states with his son, Chuck, bowling and spending time with his family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home located at 548 N. Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, FL at 11:00 am, followed by an informal life celebration at the Iron Horse Saloon on N. US Highway 1, Ormond Beach, FL
