Catherine Darr

Catherine Herrold Darr, a former resident of Manchester, PA, passed away at the age of 96 on Sunday, August 11, 2013 in Ormond Beach, FL. She was born February 3, 1917 in Port Trevorton, PA to her parents, John and Sally Herrold. She graduated Selinsgrove High School in 1935 and attended York Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1939. She worked at International Paper Company as an industrial nurse for 25 years. Mrs. Darr was preceded in death by her husband Merrel E. Darr, daughter-in-law, Ann M. Darr, brothers, Carl, George, James, Lewis and Warren Herrold, her sister, Josephine Ulsh. She is survived by a sister, Mildred Wildermuth (Robert) of Maine. She is also survived by her son, Lewis Darr (Janice), her granddaughters, Stephanie Coleman (Matthew), Rebecca Middlebrook ( Eric), and Mary Beth Darr, 4 great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kade Middlebrook and Katie and Kelly Coleman all of Ormond Beach, FL. She was a longtime member of Otterbein Church, Mt. Wolf, PA. In Florida she attended Christ Presbyterian Church in Ormond Beach. Services will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach.
