Carol Elizabeth Walczak

Carol Elizabeth Walczak, 71, of Palm Coast, FL, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on August 18, 2020. She was born on December 9, 1948 in Wilmington to Raymond T. Ridley and Arabella Pearl Whitlock Ridley.

Carol attended Conrad High School, graduating in 1966. She was able to realize her dream of attending college at Goldney-Beacom College in the 1980’s.

When Carol wasn’t fulfilling her duties as a Military Wife, she was working at the bank. She spent many years in the industry, eventually retiring as a Customer Service Representative from Mellon Bank. Carol’s greatest joy and most important role was as a mother. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life.

In Carol’s free time, she loved to volunteer and help others. Well, that is, in between her card, Bingo, and Yahtzee games. Carol’s heart was made of gold and she only wanted to make sure that everyone was cared for; however, you may have to wait until the Queen song and a little bit of dancing were over.

Carol has been reunited with her beloved husband, Frederick J. Walczak; parents, Raymond and Pearl Ridley; and brother, Raymond “Sonny” Ridley. She leaves behind her children, Lisa K. Wilhelm-Stanton (husband, Kenneth) and Eric C. Wilhelm (wife, Janelle); stepdaughter, Kimberly Price; grandchildren, Christopher R. Price (wife, Amanda), Brittney N. Coyle (husband, Kevin), Asia N. Stanton, Tyler J. Wilhelm, Saraphina C. Wilhelm, Courtney L. Lyons (husband, Christian), and Jessica Price; great-grandchildren, Joseph Tyler Coyle, Westley Ryan Price, and Zoey Marie Price; and brother, Marlin Ridley. Many friends, game partners, and extended family are also left to cherish her memory.

Viewing will be Monday, August 24, 2020 from 4pm to 7pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home in Ormond Beach, FL. Celebration of Life services will be private for family. Carol will be laid to rest next to her husband at Volusia Memorial Park in Ormond Beach. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Carol’s name to Kindred Gentiva Hospice Foundation, 3350 Riverwood Pkwy, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30339.

Carol’s sassy spirit and kind heart will be greatly missed but her legacy will carry on in the smiles of her family.
