Carl R Wiedenroth

Carl R. Wiedenroth was welcomed into the arms of our God and creator on Friday, March 15th after his courageous fight against lung cancer. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, loyal friend, and beloved by all.

Married 56 years, he leaves his wife and soul mate, Cossette (Cote) Wiedenroth, son, Curt A. Wiedenroth and wife Lynn of Burlington, Massachusetts, daughters, Laurie Pare and husband Michael of South Hadley, Massachusetts and Jodi Deros and husband Yani residing in Phoenix, Arizona. Carl was a doting and proud grandfather to Joshua, Jarred, Sarah, Monique, Rachael, Alicia and Andrew, and great grandfather to Brady, Zoey, Gianna, Kaiya and Jackson.

Carl was brother to and will be greatly missed by, Trudy and Gene Pike, Karen and David Untied , in-laws Norman and Sue Cote, Leon Cote and his dear friend Joan Sullivan, whom he has known since the 5th grade.

Born in Chicopee, Massachusetts, November 25th, 1936 to the late Ernest and Mildred Wiedenroth. He was educated at Holyoke High School and was a dedicated employee at Dorothy Dodd’s in Holyoke for 30 years and Totsy Mfg. for 12 years. He moved to Ormond Beach in 1996 to reside and continued to work for Metra Electronics. He then retired at 65 but his need to be socially involved brought him to Volusia Memorial Funeral home as an associate. He was loved by all his employers and fellow employees, and highly regarded no matter what job he held. He worked with his head up, with confidence and joy.

Carl and Cossette met when they were 6 years old and their families lived next to one another. The two families grew up together and Carl proposed to Cossette in 1955. They married in 1956 and continued to have the most loving and adoring marriage with the utmost respect for one another. They shared each and every moment together and hated to be apart. They raised a beautiful family, danced with wonderful friends and enjoyed retirement in their lovely Ormond Beach home for 16 years.

Carl was a lovable and caring man with a wonderful sense of humor that could make anyone laugh at a moments notice. He loved his wife foremost and did everything to make her life a fairytale love story. He loved to dance and no matter what song came on there was a dance step to go along with it. He was a marvelous painter and has numerous oils and watercolors that represent the beautiful shores of Ogunquit, Maine where he and Cossette spent many a days on the Marginal Way and Shore Road. They operated a Bed and Breakfast for a short time but decided that Ogunquit was not a place to work but to revere and enjoy Gods beautiful design.

Carl was brought to salvation in 1984 and has lead a life dedicated to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a passive and Godly man and lived his life as an example to many who followed in his footsteps. We believe he is at peace with our God in heaven and living in eternal bliss where his dance floor is lined in gold and his home full of beautiful hummingbirds and peacocks that he found such beauty in while here on earth. His family knows he is resting in the loving and adoring arms of his Savior and is joyful to be “home”.

Cossette, Curt, Laurie and Jodi are so very thankful to ALL who have shown their incredible love, kindness and prayers in this very difficult time, including family, friends, neighbors, Dr. Alexander, staff, Florida Hospital Hospice care and Volusia Memorial Funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Florida Hospital Hospice, The American Cancer Society, and Gideon Bibles.

Memorial visitations will take place in both Ormond Beach, FL and Burlington, MA. Times and dates for Burlington, MA will be announced on this website when finalized.
