Pat was a lifelong passionate, voracious reader of books and poetry, delighting in how they could transport her to places she might never see and asking her to think about ideas that she might never have considered. She was an artist in the way she could set up a moment for herself to relax, regroup, and find peace talking and laughing with friends, enjoying a delicious meal, exploring new places through travel or in opening a new book. A favorite of hers was to head over to Homeport or the old Brown Bag, savoring a delicious meal while reading her current mystery, historical fiction, biography, or the latest NY Times bestseller. She also perfected many sunsets at Rock Harbor with a decaf iced cafe mocha from the Chocolate Sparrow, sharing the moment with friends whose friendships spanned her lifetime. She was an intuitive soul; caring deeply about others.
Pat was born November 19, 1941 in Spencer, West Virginia. She was raised by her grandmother in Akron, OH alongside her beloved younger brother Jimmy. Pat moved to New England to attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA where she graduated with a degree in Sociology and met the love of her life Tedd Klinefelter. They married in 1964 and moved with their beloved cat Pyewacket to Manomet where Pat got her MA teachers license and taught second grade for several years in Carver, MA. In 1976, she moved with her husband, young daughter, and cat to Brewster and worked at the family business, often answering the phone at home as, “Orleans Arco”. After working several years as a Title 1 teacher at Nauset Middle School, Pat got her dream job teaching grades 3 & 5 at Eastham Elementary School. She loved going deep into the curriculum, bringing her students into the rich history and shoes of others. She enjoyed attending professional development workshops and was a strong proponent of project based learning and the importance of knowing her student’s strengths. Pat loved her role as a teacher and she loved her students very deeply.
Pat was predeceased in death by her sweetheart Tedd Klinefelter, her grandmother Mary Atkinson, parents Hiriam and Iva Pearl Stutler, and her beloved younger brother James Stutler, sister-in-law Barbara Stutler, and sweet nephew Chris Stutler. She is survived by her only child, Jennifer Klinefelter (Garo Saraydarian) and her grandkids, Ben and Emmy, her niece Kimberly Stutler Hale (Mike), and precious great nieces and nephews: Brian (Jaclyn), Lauryn, Stephen (Rachel), and great-great nephews Wyatt, Theodore, Lincoln, and Lucas.
