Michael grew up both, in Springfield and on Cape Cod. He graduated from Putnam Vocational Technical High School in 1982.
Michael then began to hone his skills as a “jack of all trades”, working in auto, restaurant, garden and landscape and ultimately home construction. He was a skilled finish carpenter and worked for almost 30 years, both for others and in his own business.
Michael and his wife, Jenny, married in 2000 and lived and raised their family on Cape Cod. Michael loved to go out in their canoe to explore the marsh, dig clams and just be together. Besides the beach, his favorite things were hikes in the woods, mushrooming, drawing and traveling to new places. A down to earth guy, Michael enjoyed the simple things in life…a campfire, his family, his friends really were his happy place.
Just in the last few years , Michael began painting with watercolors. His waves and beach scenes evoke the senses of being there. It was a true gift.
Michael is survived by Jenny, his wife of 23 years; his sons, Christian and Xavier; his step daughters, Madison and Cassidy; his father, Chris; brothers, Mark and Joseph; his sister, Heidi and many aunts, uncles, cousins, niece and nephews, in laws and extended family.
Michael was predeceased by his mother, Linda Fiore (Koetsch), affectionately known as Q.
Michael will be remembered for his kindness and quiet presence. He was a great listener and an empathic soul. He was always willing to drop anything and help a friend. He was a devoted father and loving husband. He will be missed…
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, November 23,2024 at 10 AM at Brewster Baptist Church.
A reception will follow the service at Red River BBQ in Harwich Port where Michael’s art will be on display for purchase.
