It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Ron Marshall, who departed our world on November 18, 2023. He was surrounded by the love of his family as he peacefully transitioned to eternal rest.
Born on December 8,1935, Ron was a beacon of strength, wisdom, and love in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him. As a dedicated father and husband, he played a central role in shaping the lives of his family. Often referring to himself as “adorable” Ron had a clever and witty sense of humor and the world was his audience. His unconditional love, guidance, and his commitment to the Catholic Church provided the support and the foundation upon which our family thrived.
Ron served our country by enlisting in the US Air Force in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1957. In 1962 he married the love of his life, Bernice (11/24/36-8/4/99) and they raised 5 beautiful children together. Upon the passing of his beloved wife in 1999, he committed himself to the support of his family. Ron especially loved his grandson Maxwell, and his granddaughters Mackenna and Alexa, with whom he affectionately called "his girls". Ron was also a loving and supportive figure to his children's spouses, his many nieces and nephews as well as many family friends and their loved ones. No matter the situation, Dad always put others before him which was the pillar of his faith.
In his professional life, Ron excelled as a parts Manager with International Harvester. With his people skills, he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and peers. His work ethic, integrity, and passion for his craft were a source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of working alongside him. Known for his storytelling, Ron had a remarkable memory for the numerous interactions he had with all of his professional colleagues and their families. Ron always created an atmosphere of joy and comfort for everyone around him. As a result of his dedicated work ethic he was inducted into International Harvester’s Hall of Fame in 1987. In 1995, after 30 years of service, Ron retired to his home on Cape Cod.
In his leisure time, Ron found solace in gardening, fishing and his religion. He shared these passions with family and friends, creating cherished memories that will forever be etched in our hearts. Ron also had an infinity for his beloved beagle Harvey who was his sidekick for many years helping him get through the passing of his wife Bernice.
Ron leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family. He is survived by his children, Christopher Marshall and his wife Kelley; Stephen Marshall; Robert Marshall and his wife Linda; Richard Marshall; Jillian Marshall; Elizabeth (Marshall) Klink and her husband Tim; 3 grandchildren, Maxwell, Mackenna and Alexa along with numerous nieces and nephews. While we mourn the loss of his physical presence, we celebrate the enduring impact he had on our lives.
