Lynda Jane Brennan, a long-term resident, of Eastham, MA, passed away on September 22, 2015. She was born September 4, 1946 in Boston and was raised in Roslindale by her parents Mildred and Thomas Sanford with her sister Joanne Abbott of Sandwich, MA. She celebrated her 48th wedding anniversary with her husband Donald Edward Watson on September 16, 2015. Lynda Jane raised five children with Donald Watson: Lisa Watson of Gloucester, MA, Julie House of Orleans, MA, Matthew Watson of Centerville, MA, Patrick Watson of Brooklyn, NY, and Shayne Watson of Chatham, MA. Lynda Jane completed her graduate degree from Boston College in 1981 and worked for 27 years as a school psychologist at Sandwich High School.
Known as “Nana” by her nine grandchildren, she was deeply loved and will forever live on in their hearts; Brennan and Ronan Chisholm of Chatham, MA; Elisha, Joshua, and Joseph Watson of Centerville, MA; August and Pyper Watson of Gloucester, MA; and Dahlia and Gavin Pravda of Brooklyn, NY.
Lynda Jane will be missed terribly and will be remembered for her love of great conversation, good food & wine, and the beautiful natural surroundings of the lower Cape. Lynda valued building authentic and strong connections with others and her greatest gift was the generosity of her time, energy, spirit, and love.
In her retirement, she spent time volunteering with both Hospice and Independence House; continuing her legacy of compassion, caring, and commitment to others. She also enjoyed working for her daughter Shayne’s business Bedworks Design. A memorial celebration of her life is scheduled for 11:00am Monday October 12, 2015 at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House 819 Main Street, Chatham, MA. We would love for you to join us.
