Judith Ann (Davies) Day, of Yarmouth Port, MA passed away and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 6, 2024. Judie passed away in her home, comforted by her two loving daughters.
Born in Manhattan, New York on August 5, 1941, Judie and her identical twin sister, Gail were welcomed into this world by loving parents, Christine (Andrian) and Kenneth Davies. Judie and her siblings were raised in the New York/New Jersey area. She attended Ohio University in Athens, OH, was a member of the Chi Omega sorority, and graduated in 1963 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
After graduation, Judie joined the advertising agency Young & Rubicam, working as an Administrative Assistant. In April of 1966, Judie married her husband of 50 years, Michael R. Day. Once settled in Kansas City, MO, Judie began her career as an art teacher. Judie and Michael eventually relocated and raised their family in Ridgewood, NJ where Judie created a warm, nurturing, and loving home for her husband and two daughters.
In 1995, Judie and her husband, Michael retired to Cape Cod, MA where she once again was able to focus on her love of painting. Judie exquisitively captured the beauty of Cape Cod through painting with watercolor, oil and acrylic mediums. Her family and friends are honored to exhibit and enjoy her artwork in their homes.
Judie loved to teach, whether it be art or through Bible study. She was an active participant and leader in Bible Study Fellowship for many years and continued to be an active member of her church, Cape Cod Bible Alliance Church in Brewster, MA. She was a natural educator and counselor and her love of teaching art and God’s Word has touched the lives of many.
Judie is survived by her brother, Gordon Davies, her sister, Gail (Davies) Kiewit, two daughters, Leslie (Day) Soria and Kathleen (Day) Brady, her sons-in-law, Christopher Soria and Scott Brady, her three grandchildren, Emily, Timothy, and Tariku Soria, and her two grand-dogs, Lincoln and Oliver.
Friends and family are welcome to attend a funeral service on Friday, August 23 at 9:30am at Cape Cod Bible Alliance Church, 3600 Main Street Brewster, MA 02631. A reception will follow the service. Judie will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
