Jean Evans Outcalt Finney, 83, passed away on April 16, 2017, in the comfort of her home in Middleborough, MA, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late G. Gahr Finney, whom she married in Maryland during the summer of 1957. Jean raised six children -- Deborah Prive (deceased) of Plymouth, Patricia Finney Leopold of Moore Junction, Tx, John Finney of Hopkinton, Barbara O’Loughlin of Middleborough, Tim Finney of Norton, and Thomas Finney of Halifax. She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren as well as numerous friends and extended family. Jean was born in New Brunswick, NJ and graduated from Douglass College. During her lifetime, she worked as a physical education and preschool teacher. She was also an active practitioner of the Catholic faith, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and CCD Teacher at Saint Thecla's Parish in Pembroke, before moving to Cape Cod and worshipping at Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster. Visiting hours will be held at Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans, MA from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2017. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster at 11 AM on Friday, April 21, 2017, with a burial to follow.
