Grace was a resident of the Terraces of Orleans, where she received loving and exceptional care. She had owned a home on Boland Pond after moving to Orleans from Indianapolis in 2011 to be closer to her family. She was a retired librarian with a love for music and nature and travel. She enjoyed the wonderful natural beauty of the Cape and the many cultural activities.
Grace grew up in Jamestown, New York, received a bachelor of arts degree in music from Ohio University, and married her wartime sweetheart in 1946. She worked as a reference librarian for the Indiana State Library until her retirement. She is predeceased by her oldest daughter Marjorie McKee and her husband Duane Stanley.
Grace loved music, and enjoyed playing, singing, and listening to everything from opera to bird songs. She loved to garden and hike and travel all over the world. She will be remembered for her sense of gratitude for the joys surrounding her.
There will be a memorial visitation at Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans from 2 to 4 PM on Thursday, November 2nd. Burial will be in Wyoming next summer in the family plot at the base of her beloved Big Horn Mountains.
