Clarence was born on May 21, 1928, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to the late Ethel and Joseph Whatmough. Clarence graduated from East Senior High School in Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 1946. Clarence enlisted in the Army where he fought in the Korean War.
In 1974 Clarence married the love of his life Daisy. Clarence started his construction career in the trades, following his father's footsteps as a union bricklayer. He worked for Westcott construction, Argus Construction, Lower Cape Foundation all as a supervising masonry foreman. Clarence was clerk of the works at many local municipal projects, Gallo Ice Arena, Eastham Fire Station, Orleans Senior Center, Orleans Town Hall, Wellfleet Fire Station and ended at the Provincetown Library and Town Hall.
Clarence and Daisy had a true passion for life. They traveled, loved family, friends and just being together. They loved boating and made many friends in their 35+ years at Allen Harbor Yacht Club in Harwich Port where he served as past commodore. He was also a member of the Orleans American Legion. In his spare time, you would find him walking his beloved dog Baxter or quahogging at Mill Pond and spending his weekends with his favorite son in law Peter.
Clarence is predeceased by his wife Dorothy "Daisy" (Brown) Whatmough, his first wife, Claire Wilson, stepson, Ronald Evanko, and loving granddaughter, Rhianon Borisoff, his brother Joe Whatmough, wife Dot. He is survived by his children Wayne Whatmough, wife Marla, Lynne Borisoff, husband Michael, Bryan Whatmough, wife Cheryl, Garyn Whatmough, stepchildren, Lynda Joy, husband Peter, Liz Harris, John Ohmann, and wife Liz. He was the cherished grandfather of Michael, wife Allyson, Stephanie, Christopher, Brittany, Samantha, husband Peter, Alexa, husband Chris, Greg, wife Nikki, and great grandchildren, Dylan, Hutton, Daisy, Camilla, and Beckham. Clarence is also survived by his niece, Jeanne and nephew, Joey.
