Sue Ann Barnes, Age 66, of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully at her home in Orlando, FL alongside her children, family & friends on Friday January, 25, 2019. Sue was born in Elmira, NY on March 25, 1952. The daughter of Richard and Barbara Roberts, she was one of seven children. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Roberts, brother Mark Roberts, and her ex-husband & best friend Miles Barnes. She is survived by her mother Barbara Roberts, children Mark Barnes; Melissa Ambrose(Stephen) and children Nicholas Carson(Jessica), Cody Carson, Dustin Ambrose, Stephen Ambrose; Miles Barnes II(Athena), and children Ashlyn Barnes, Hayden Barnes, Miles Barnes III; twin daughters Andrea Barnes and Amy Barnes(Mike); Joseph Martin and son Justin Martin & her siblings Linda, Sandra, Richard Jr., Debra, Lisa, & Joseph, as well as several nieces & nephews. In addition, she is survived by her beloved canine companion Kane who was her little buddy.
Sue was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy, and she attended Rollins College in Florida where she became a Certified Medical Coder. Sue worked, and retired in the medical field after 40 years. She worked at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Orlando Regional Medical Center, and Quest Diagnostics; where she retired. Sue was also the former business owner of The Arch Café in Elmira, NY. She was a lover of music, and fan of sports. Her favorite sports teams were the New York Yankees & Buffalo Bills. Sue’s smile was very contagious, and she had many friends from New York to Florida. She was an all-around classy woman who loved decorating, fine dining, and spending time with her animals. She also liked to cook, and she was great at it! She enjoyed traveling, and sunny days at the beach. Her favorite thing was spending time with her children & grandchildren. Sue always put her family first, and her amazing love can still be felt. She will be missed dearly, and will always live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
