Naoma was born in Fort Monroe, Virginia on October 2, 1937. She married Robert Louis Sherman, husband of 45 years, on September 1, 1956, who was an Air Force Veteran. The military took Bob and Naoma to many exciting places until they finally settled down in Orlando in 1978. Naoma worked at AT&T until she retired in 2001. She loved to travel by land, sea or air, but her favorite was by sea, Naoma loved to cruise.
Naoma was very active and loved her church family at University Carillon United Methodist Church. She joyfully volunteered her time serving in many functions that included greeting patrons with a hug, usher, counting the offering, folding bulletins and was one of the “Doggers” selling hotdogs in the church parking lot during UCF games. Naoma contributed to many charities, but she took a personal pride in contributing weekly to the church food pantry.
Naoma was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her God, family and friends, she was a blessing to all who knew her.
Naoma is survived by her children, Debra Lorraine Wilkes (Terry) and Robin Keith Sherman (Stefanie); grandchildren, Heather Brown (Sean), Allison Sherman, Christopher Sherman (Andrea), Megan Hilliker (James), Cody Hill, Kelsey Kamps (Andy); great grandchildren, Hailey and Hunter Brown, Christian and Nichole Sherman, Kase Kamps; one great great grandchild, Evie.
