John and family ... your father was one in a million.  He cared for (4) generations of my family members. Yes, this was doing a time that white professionals were not so kind or caring about blacks, who did not work for them.  He assisted my sister to become a nurse and he helped me with my career in public service. As classmates from our days at Boone High School, your father would keep me informed regarding your career and your immediate family. He was very proud of you and your entire family.  His practice was important to him. But, his family was his first priority. As I close, I think is devine that you Dad passed away the very same date (10/29th)as did my Dad. However, it was only 18 years later(smile).  He was was my Dad's Doctor at the time of his passing. He,also served as my mother's doctor until her passing almost five years, ago.  And, Dr. Murray served as my Doctor until he was no longer taking appointments. My family shall never forget him nor the place that he has in our hearts. So, we join you and all who loved and valued him, in celebration of his life and Legacy ... To God Be The Glory for his Concern for others and his Commitment to saving lives !!!!  As Always, RBM

 Although Lou and I had not been active in medicine for years, the many years in which we were are most memorable at this time. He and Sue were always with us on trips and meetings. We shared many good times together. Now that Lou has departed I am sure they are happily reunited. We miss him now, but my time is short before I join them again for eternity.

I am sorry for your loss. Life will be changed forever. I know I have already gone through this. I never told you because, I didn't know until sometime within the past few years, that your father saved my mother's life in 1957. She had menigitis was in Orange Memorial Hospital. There was a photo on the bedside table of her 3 children at that time. He told her... "come on Stella, look at those kids you have got to fight to get better". She never forgot him. How many countless others did he help? Only God knows. I encountered him as a student and young nurse, he always respected our work and treated nurses with kindness. God fold you into His arms now and comfort you family in his passing.

To the family of Dr. Murray.  He was a special person to me - always calm -nothing seem to upset him.  When the markets would go against us, he would say "Don't worry, it will come back."  And 90% of the time, he was right.  When the lake was dry he said "Don't worry.  A couple of hurricanes will fill it back up."  And again he was right.  He helped me take a longer term view of things, which makes it easier to cope.  I learned a lot from him and am very grateful.

Jane and I are saddened to hear of Lou's 
passing. I had the good fortune to work with Dr. Murray in the Florida Academy Of Family Physicians, the Florida Medical Association, and the AMA. Lou was gracious in all he did and a credit to those he served, whether patients or organizations. His cheery countenance will be missed by all of those who knew him.

Dear Jo and family. We are so sorry for your loss. It doesn't help now I know but just remember that this time shall pass and you will be with both of your parents again one day. If you need anything, you know where we are.

I am only one of the many Florida family docs who knew Dr. Murray, mainly from the FAFP meetings, over many years. He was always such a gentleman, such a role model, such a fine, caring individual, always encouraging and validating the people around him. 
I had no idea he had such a large family and I just wanted you to know that he touched many of our lives with his benevolence, kindness, friendliness and competence. I feel proud to have known him.

It was my honor to know Lou and Sue and their children as we lived in the same neighborhood for so many years and a privilege to work with him in family medicine at the old Orange Memoraial Hospital and in the Florida Medical Association. Murray kids and family, we are so sorry for your loss.  Our parents were such good life long friends.  Lou and our father Ray had a very special friendship.  On behalf of our mother, Virginia and all the Stiegel kids, we send you our most sincere condolences.

It saddens me to hear of Dr. Murray's passing.  He was our family physician from the time I can remember as a little boy.  Lou and Sue were good friends of my mom and dad.
