Juan Alberto Colón Torres, 77, of Puerto Rico, died Saturday, July 1, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Comerio, Puerto Rico, on September 25, 1945, he is predeceased by his parents Filomena Torres Matos and Juan Colón Montalván.
Juan is survived by his wife Lucia Baez Gonzalez (46 years together). His two daughters Anita Maldonado and her husband Anthony, Milagros Baez and her partner Shawn; three sons Juan A. Colón Jr. and his wife Ivonne, Arnaldo Baez and his wife Maria and Felix Baez; nine grandchildren; Vincente J. Colón and his wife Rachel, Jaileene Hernandez and her husband Emanuel, Alexandria Baez, Ivonne Torres , Katherine Torres , Kelsey Baez, Kelvyn Baez , Angelo Pilato and Jailene Perez; ten great-grandchildren; Aurora Colón, Noelani Valentin, Enzoh Hernandez, Janah Hernandez, Alexander Rodriguez , Gabriella Quiles , Juliana Quiles, Gracelyn Quiles , Giselle Quiles and Camilla Rose Mendez. His siblings; Fátima Mercedes Colón, María Adelina Colón, Sonia Esther Colón, Luis Felix Colón, the late Hector Ramón Colón, Norma Iris Colón, and the late Juan Antonio Colón; and extended Family.
Juan died after a strong fight against Cancer. His example was of a man who was loving, happy, humble, hardworking, respectful, and kind to all. He was a man who was resilient and persevered to make his dreams come true. He graduated from High School in Comerio, Puerto Rico, and came to the United States at an early age. He worked diligently to become bilingual in both the English and Spanish languages. He worked in various positions until he was employed by the Veterans Hospital in Massachusetts. He was approved for a transfer to the VA hospital in Puerto Rico, where he retired. He had a farm that he loved working on with his animals. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Juan demonstrated to everyone by his example to be happy and enjoy life.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 10:00am to 12:00pm, followed by a Funeral Service from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Family Funeral Care, 13001 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, Florida 32837.
A Committal Service will follow at 2:00pm at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, Florida 32817.
