She was born in Carter District, Craighead, Manchester, Jamaica on January 1, 1951. Her late parents were Clifford Dixon and Mavis Dixon.
She was an elementary school teacher and a homemaker. She had a passion for family and spiritual growth. Her hobbies included reading, cooking, baking, singing and watching her favorite TV shows. At the age of 2, she experienced an accidental burn from hot milk on her forehead. She never held any grudge or animosity and she was very forgiving.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Peyton Helps, her Dad Clifford Dixon (aka Mas Claudie), her Mom Mavis Dixon (aka Sa May), and Brother Horace Dixon (Sparkie).
She is survived by Children Richard Helps, Masha Helps-Peoples and George Peoples Jr., Diana Helps and Camall Thomas, Washington Helps and Alexandra Helps.
