Ines Ramos Rivera, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 14th in Orlando, Florida. She was known for her warm heart and the joy she brought to everyone she met.
Born on January 21, 1947, in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, Ines was the daughter of Clotilde Rivera and Graciano Ramos. She dedicated her life to her family, raising her children with love and compassion. Ines is survived by her partner, Luis Santana Sr. of Naguabo, Puerto Rico, and her children: Maribel Afanador Goralski of Rock Hill, SC; Edilia Guzman and husband Gabriel of Arlington, TN; Corinda Afanador of Shrewsbury, MA; Deborah Melendez and husband Walter of Killeen, TX; and Harold Diaz and wife Angie Cuba Diaz of Orlando, FL. She was predeceased by her son, Ferdinand Afanador of Kissimmee, FL, in 2018.
Ines was a loving grandmother to 14 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to 22 great-grandchildren. She also had many nieces and nephews who brought her immense joy.
Ines is survived by her sisters: Lydia Ramos, Elisa Ramos Montalvo, Agatha Young, Nellie Ramos Reyes, Yadira Ramos, Teresita Rose, Maria (Tata) Afanador, and Marguerita Oquendo. Her brothers: Eli, Ignacio, and Hector Ramos, Nelson Soto, and George Rodriguez and her stepmother Maria (Tonia) Camacho. She is predeceased by her brother, Luis Ramos.
Passionate about gardening and sewing, Ines found joy in creating and nurturing. She cherished the time spent playing dominoes and cards with her friends and family, where laughter and friendly competition filled the room. She was a devoted caretaker to the sick and elderly in Puerto Rico, touching many lives with her compassion and selflessness.
Ines will be deeply missed and will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, Florida 32817. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
