Fascinated with magic throughout his life, he performed for his grandchildren's birthday parties, company gatherings, and fundraisers. He earned the Order of Merlin Shield and was an active member of the Brotherhood of Magicians. He also challenged himself to try community theater in his 70’s, performing in several plays.
Surviving family members include daughters Dawn McMullin (Gary), Joan Pichon, granddaughter Morgan Tinker (Steven), and great-grandchildren Raegan Mackenzie and Beckett Thomas. He was predeceased by grandson Matthew McMullin in 2018.
