Carmen Maria Marrero, 104, of Orlando, FL passed away August 24, 2022. She was born in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico on May 3, 1918. She was married to Flor Melendez. Carmen was blessed with a large loving family and lived an exceptional, healthy, and long life.
Carmen is survived by her daughters Elba Luisa Melendez and Brunila Serrano, her grandchildren Eddy Marza, Edward Luis, Nancy and Marcos Sanchez, Melissa and Jose Toro, Marisol Sanchez, Willie Hall, Martha Luz Melendez, Annette Gonzalez, and Carlos Ruiz.
Her great-grandchildren Melissa Sanchez, Marilyn Valentin, Olivia, Edward Luis, Daniel Luis, Destiny and Logan Sanchez, Mya and Joshua Perez, Baliam, Brianna and Jose Toro Jr., Anthony Rocha Sanchez, Selina Hall, Justina Lebron, Analis, Adelina, Angelica, Amala Gonzalez, and Luciana Yolanda Ruiz.
Her great-great grandchildren Destiny Martinez, Aaliyah Quiles, Aleksander Valentin, Joshua Swope, Julissa Lebron, Santino Picorelli, Luna Lewanowski and Carmen’s last surviving sibling of 12 Candelaria.
Carmen is preceded in death by husband Flor Melendez, her children Frank and Carlos Melendez, Carmen Sanchez, her grandchildren Edward L. Sanchez Jr., Frederick Sanchez, Yolanda Lebron, her brothers Juan, Jose Eladiom Santiago Marrero, her sisters Catalina, Gregoria, Rosalina, Antonia, Amalia, Luisa, and Gloria Marrero Carmen’s parents Gregorio Marrero and Feliciana Diaz.
Funeral arrangements will be held on Friday September 2, 2022 at Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill. Private viewing 10:00-11:00am, Public viewing 11:00-1:00 pm, Interment 2:00 pm.
