Memorials may be made to a charity near and dear to his heart - the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at http://fightcf.cff.org/goto/CarlFasano
Carl is survived by his wife Margaret “MarGee” Fasano and his four children, Nancy Mitchell and husband Blaine, Carl Fasano, Jr. and wife Fran, Lynn Nauman and Mark Nauman; his two grandchildren, Jared Mitchell and Kamryn Fasano, and nephew Daniel Downing.
Carl was born March 23, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY. He and MarGee raised their family in Brooklyn and then moved to Staten Island not long after the Verrazano Bridge was built, where they remained until they retired to Delray Beach, Florida in the late 1980s. They subsequently moved to Orlando, Florida in 2003.
Carl is a retired NYC Transit Foreman, Coney Island Shop. He served as the proud VP, and then President, of the Delray Beach Chapter 14 Retirees of the NYC Transit for several years prior to his move to Orlando, where he then served as the Orlando Chapter 6 President. Carl also served as the State Board of Retirees 1st VP & 2nd VP, as well as the State of Florida Retirees Convention Coordinator for several years.
What Carl enjoyed most was being surrounded by his family and friends, of which he had many; taking trips, having a drink and just enjoying life. He was a handyman who enjoyed tooling around his garage and fixing things, spending time on his computer answering his many emails and sharing a joke or two, and watching war movies and the History Channel.
Carl will always be remembered with a smile, and will be sorely missed by his family and all who had the good fortune to know him.
