Capt. William Watson (Bill) Loy USN (ret) passed away at home on Monday, June 23rd, 2014. He was born in Keyser, WV on June 7, 1921. He graduated from Keyser High and attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and Potomac State College. He had a 29 year career in the Navy, first as a helicopter pilot and finally retired after serving as the Executive Officer at Jacksonville Naval Air Station. He went on to serve as the manager at Barnett Bank at Jax NAS until his retirement. He was a true gentleman, who loved West Virginia, golfing, music, and his many friends and family. He is survived by his daughter Sydne Iwerks and her husband Glenn, grandsons Zach and Jordan, and the special ladies and guys who were a big part of his final years: Betty, Kimberly, Irma, Terrie, Anne, Carolyn, Jim and Judy. Memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or your favorite charity.
